Hale Cabinets was established in 1979. David & Becky Hale opened up shop & started producing beautiful furniture, after David tired of teaching cabinet making at Del Norte High School & UNM. One of their most memorable projects was the UNM emblem in the entry of Hodgin Hall. The name of the business was the Collector's Item; the thought being to produce pieces that would eventually become collector's items! Soon, however there were too many calls for specialty coin & baseball card values, as well as how much for a 1962 Barby doll! It was then decided to keep the name Collector's Item & add DBA Hale Cabinets. Eric Hale started working with his Pops in 1994 and became not just his son but his partner in business & best friends. Learning every part of the business & the value of patience & quality craftsmanship, we became a strong family business. David & Becky have now both retired to consulting for the business. Eric & his wife Elsy Hale continue the family tradition. Keith Whitezell, an extremely gifted & talented craftsman has joined the business. Keith had been working part time for David & Eric for years as well as the construction business with David's brother Steve Hale & his own brother Kory. He finally decided to pursue his love of furniture & cabinet building. That's what it takes in this business to create special pieces; love & passion for what you're doing! That is Hale Cabinets.
